Gilgamesch - Krieg der Wirklichkeit
Today the pilot short film "Gilgamesch - Krieg der Wirklichkeit" (engl. "Gilgamesh - War of Reality") by performing artist and new short film director Tobias Schülke celebrates its premiere today!
The satirical rewriting of the "Gilgamesh" epos by the group Unkoordinierte Bewegung also begins with a divine intervention in the following crisis: the pig who failed as a television star "Schweini" (formerly "Schweinis vegane Kochshow") loafs around in front of the TV. "Miss Democracy" appears to him and announces that he is the chosen one who must save the people from the dictatorship and the climate change. His mission would begin where it is worst: on Facebook? On YouTube? Instagram? No. In Hoyerswerda (north-east of Germany) ...
"Gilgamesh - War of Reality" is a mini-series that deals with the appropriation of history's ideologies. Based on the ancient "Gilgamesh" epos, the artists' group Unkoordinierte Bewegung unfolds a satirical new poem in the style of a quirky, surreal puppet and comic world.
